The Galtür Nordic Volumes event series invites cross-country skiing professionals and amateur athletes to Galtür for the fourth time from 27 to 29 March 2025. The programme includes the open cross-country races "Nordic Sprint Race" and "Cross Country Climb", which are ranked for the Austria Cup and the FIS, an expo and a Kids & Juniors Race including a cross-country camp for the youngsters. Total prize money: 15.000 Euro. Registrations are now open.

Galtür is back in cross-country skiing fever, the fourth Nordic Volumes will transform Galtür into the centre of cross-country skiing from 27 to 29 March 2025. Young talents, recreational skiers and top athletes will compete in exciting competitions and put the 80 kilometres of trails in the spotlight.

Amateur and professional skiers born in 2008 and later take part in the open cross-country races "Nordic Sprint Race" and "Cross Country Climb", which are categorised for the Austria Cup and the FIS. The Galtür Nordic Sprint Race on 27 March is a cross-country sprint for athletes with and without an ÖSV code. The Cross Country Climb, which is held on 29 March as a cross-country race for the general public using the free technique, features the LIGHT distance with around 25 kilometres/300 vertical metres and the HARD distance with around 42 kilometres/900 vertical metres. Young cross-country skiers will compete in the Kids & Juniors Race on 28 March, which is held over 350 or 730 metres depending on the age group.

Race calendar Galtür Nordic Volumes

  • 27 March: Nordic Sprint Race Cross-country sprint in free technique for everyone born in 2008 or later. The race is counted for the Austria Cup and FIS. Total prize money: 7,500 euros. Entry fee: 20 Euro.
  • 28 March: Kids & Juniors Race Sprint race with free technique on a 350 - 700 metre course, in which all children born between 2010 and 2018 can take part free of charge. Each child receives a prize.
  • 29 March: Cross Country Climb Open cross-country race in free technique over the distances HARD (42 km/900 m) and LIGHT (25 km/300 m) from Galtür to the Silvretta-Bielerhöhe and back again. The race is categorised as the "Austrian Long Distance Championships". Points are also awarded for the Austria Cup and FIS. Total prize money: 7,500 Euro.
    Entry fee for early birds until 31 December 2024: LIGHT 35 Euro or HARD 41 Euro.

Supporting programme

In the expo area, numerous exhibitors and partners from the cross-country skiing sector will be providing information about new products and equipment on all three days of the event. The partners of the Paznaun - Ischgl region will also be there: Fischer Sports, Gloryfy and LEKI.

Tirol³ Nordic Challenge

Looking for more cross-country skiing challenges? Anyone who takes part in the three Tyrolean cross-country skiing events Dolomitenlauf (17 - 19 January), Ganghoferlauf (1 - 2 March) and Galtür Nordic Volumes (27 - 29 March) as an individual or in a team and completes at least one race per event takes part in the "Tirol³ Nordic Challenge", benefits from discounts on the entry fee and receives special awards and prizes. Ambitious athletes will be recognised in the form of a cup, while all others will be rewarded for their successful participation.
