Description
A medium-length, medium-difficult tour to a very beautiful vantage point with a bike & hike option. The tour starts out over the wooden bridge in the car park at the Diasbahn cable car. The route initially follows some relatively steep forest trails up to the dense forest belt where you can soon enjoy views of the Visnitz waterfall and then come to the idyllic Rotwegkapelle chapel. After a few more twists and turns, the valley becomes flatter and the forest less dense – and you enter the meadowland area around the Visnitzalm lodge. You reach this catered lodge after around 5 km and can enjoy a revitalising refreshment break here as well as purchasing some of the farm produce made here. But the tour isn’t finished yet. Some 250 m after the lodge, you cross the Visnitzbach river and cycle another approx. 2.3 km north-east to a vantage point at 2,070 m – the destination for the tour.
Tip bike & hike: from here you can also reach the summit of the Mittagkopf at 2,249 m in just half an hour.
Especially suitable for e-bikes!
