Description
The Pro Challenge 2 is the most demanding route of the PIUT. It starts in See and leads over 100 kilometres and 6,300 metres in altitude to Kappl and Galtür before finishing in Ischgl. The route follows stages 1, 2, 7 and 4 of the Paznaun High Route, including a loop over Lake Zeinissee and the Verwall mountains in Galtür. The route passes prominent points such as the Ascher Hütte, Alpe Gamperthun, Niederelbehütte, Rauher Kopf, Berglisee and Zeinissee as well as the Grieskogel and Friedrichshafener Hütte before ending in Ischgl after a final valley section. This tour will challenge even the most experienced trail runners and combines four extreme ascents and descents, technical passages, summit victories and unforgettable panoramic views of the fascinating alpine landscape.
With the railway station in Landeck, the Paznaun is optimally connected to the Austrian train network. From Landeck-Zams station, only a short bus ride separates you from the Paznaun. Every half hour, line bus 260 runs from there through the valley.
