The Paznaun region has once again confirmed its reputation as a stronghold of Austrian haute cuisine. Top chef Benjamin Parth and his restaurant "Stüva" can once again celebrate outstanding awards. Other establishments in the Paznaun region have also received awards, impressively underlining the exceptional culinary quality of the region.
Honour for Benjamin Parth
The award-winning restaurant "Stüva" under chef Benjamin Parth has been recognised in several renowned restaurant guides: In Gault&Millau 2026, it recently received five toques and 19 out of 20 points once again. At the beginning of 2025, Parth was honoured as Tyrol's most highly awarded chef and awarded two stars by the MICHELIN Guide.
Five toques for the "Stüva"
With consistently high quality, the Stüva maintains its place among the top restaurants. Head chef Benjamin Parth leads his team with precision and innovation. He sees the Gault&Millau rating as an important guide in an increasingly confusing gastronomic landscape. Reviews and criticism are also playing an increasingly important role in social media.
Parth is delighted about receiving the award again:
"I am delighted about the renewed recognition in Gault&Millau and that we were able to defend our five toques. This shows that Ischgl is not only one of the world's leading ski resorts, but also sets culinary standards. My team has worked with great dedication and precision – this recognition is a wonderful confirmation of our joint achievement," said Benjamin Parth.
Paznaun as a top culinary region
The current edition of the Gault&Millau guide does not only highlight the "Stüva". A total of 17 toques were awarded to four outstanding gourmet restaurants in Paznaun. This makes the valley the region with the most toques in Tyrol and an example of how culinary excellence, creativity and regional authenticity can be combined.
The latest Gault & Millau awards impressively underscore the fact that Paznaun has long been one of the leading gourmet regions in Tyrol – indeed, in the whole of Austria.
My thanks and congratulations go to all the award-winning chefs who shape the culinary profile of Paznaun with passion and perfection. Special mention must be made of Benjamin Parth, who, with 19 out of 20 points and his Stüva in Ischgl, is once again one of Austria's best chefs. I would also like to congratulate Martin Sieberer (Paznaunerstube, Ischgl, 18/20 points), Patrick Raaß (Schlossherrnstube, Ischgl, 17/20 points) and René Zangerl (Jagdstube, See/Paznaun, 18/20 points)." "These awards are more than a sign of the highest culinary art – they are a commitment to the quality and passion that characterise our region. The Paznaun combines sport, entertainment and cuisine into an experience that delights guests from all over the world. Here, world-class work is done not only on the slopes, but also in the kitchens – in a valley that redefines enjoyment," says Thomas Köhle, Managing Director of TVB Paznaun-Ischgl.
young talents
We would also like to congratulate Julia Knoll from Kappl, who was named Patissière of the Year 2026 by Gault&Millau. Her success is representative of the young talents who are making their way to the top of the culinary world in Paznaun. It is further proof that our region not only embodies tradition, but also has a bright future ahead of it.
Its current success shows that Paznaun not only delights visitors with its alpine natural scenery, but is also one of Austria's leading culinary regions – and has long been an internationally renowned hotspot for gourmets.
