E-Bike World Championship for Everyone in Ischgl and Galtür: A World Championship experience for every ability

When ambitious recreational cyclists, leisure riders and elite athletes come together in the Tyrolean mountains, it is time once again for the E-Bike World Championship for Everyone in Ischgl and Galtür. A range of course formats and a diverse supporting programme featuring an expo area, side events and the spectacular Fox Hunt make the event far more than just a race. Combining sporting challenge with festival atmosphere, the weekend is not only about finishing times, but above all about shared experiences – and the chance for everyone to become a world champion.

From 3 to 5 September 2026, Ischgl and Galtür will once again become the meeting point for the international e-bike community. The E-Bike World Championship for Everyone promises a weekend of sporting challenges, shared experiences and innovative e-mountain biking trends – equally appealing to professionals, ambitious recreational cyclists and leisure riders.

Everyone can be a winner

The open E-Bike World Championship follows the motto: “Everyone can be a winner – everyone can become an E-Bike World Champion.” It provides a platform that brings together people of all ability levels. Whether driven by sporting ambition or simply by the appeal of taking part in an international competition set against a breathtaking Alpine backdrop, the event has something for everyone.

New in 2026: The “It’s All About Taking Part” route puts the shared experience centre stage. With no timing and no race pressure, participants aged six and above can complete the route through stunning natural scenery as part of the E-Bike Parade – in costume or without. Fun, community spirit and unforgettable moments of happiness take priority. All finishers receive a medal. Entry costs €39. This makes the E-Bike World Championship even more accessible to families, young riders and everyone who wants to enjoy the excitement of a race without performance pressure.

A variety of routes

Participants can choose from four route formats designed for different ability levels:

·        “Jedermann” – the classic route for recreational cyclists

·        “Jedermann Advanced” – a more demanding course for advanced riders

·        “Elite” – a technical and physically demanding challenge for ambitious racers, competitive athletes and professionals; open to everyone, with no licence required

·        “It’s All About Taking Part” – for anyone who simply wants to join in, enjoy the landscape and share their passion for e-biking with others

The routes lead through the spectacular mountain scenery of Ischgl and Galtür and are clearly signposted. Additional marshals along the course provide guidance and ensure safety throughout.

E-Bike Expo and supporting programme

Alongside the World Championship, visitors and participants can look forward to a varied programme of experiences:

·        An E-Bike Expo with numerous exhibitors presenting the latest e-bike models, accessories, clothing and technology highlights, as well as on-site test opportunities

·        Live music and further attractions creating a festival atmosphere

·        Hire e-bikes available for participants who wish to explore the routes in advance or join spontaneously

·        Team rankings enabling families, clubs and groups of friends to share in the excitement together

Fox Hunt – an action-packed side event

Traditionally, the E-Bike World Championship kicks off on Thursday with the spectacular E-Bike Fox Hunt to the Idalp. Riders tackle a demanding uphill course in an attempt to overtake the “fox”, who rides without electric assistance. In addition to the sporting challenge, the format creates a fantastic atmosphere before a musical sun.downer takes place at the Alpenhaus.
